What you shouldn’t post on social media

We have so many adorable pictures of our babies that we just want to show the whole world how cute they are. However one thing i have come to realize is the internet has quite remarkable memory, it never seems to forget anything it has seen or heard. *sigh* If i could get that memory back now, I would be so happy! This baby brain is taking longer than usual; I used to think it lasts only up to 6 months at maximum, should I be worried?

Anyway, where were we, yes! What we should not post on social media however tempted we are because it interferes with our babies personal space and privacy. I might have fallen a victim once or twice but yes knowledge is power, now we know and should share it with mothers, fathers and future parents as well

1. NO NUDE PHOTOS
Whether they are in the bath tub or lying on the bed, NO NUDITY. They might come across it years from now and feel embarrassed by it especially if you are those mothers who have funny picture captions.

2. DO NOT UPLOAD PICTURES OF BABIES WHO ARE NOT YOUR OWN, sometimes at birthday parties or at an eat out, you find that your baby has taken pictures with your friends babies and you feel you would like to upload it. Ask for permission first to check whether they are okay with it. They may not want those specific pictures uploaded. I mean ask the mothers of the babies.

P.s if you have a selfie with baby Chiiwo on any social media page that will be a thousand shillings,  hahaha! Whether or not i took the picture for you. :p Pleasure doing business with you. 🙂

3. DO NOT TAKE A PICTURE OF THEM IN SCHOOL.
Maybe I sound more or less like  a paranoid parent but school is meant to be safe haven for the children and taking pictures of them in school may be a security threat since you do not know who has their best interest at heart. However if you do take pictures make sure there are no obvious landmarks or names that would lead to someone easily identifying the location.

4. IF THE  PHOTO IS EMBARRASSING
This may not please the child in some few years to come as well. A photo of them crying with food in their mouth or such a sight, you are sure you would not like spotting now if you were in their position.
